Yeontaek Oh

Praised by critics for his "millimeter precision of touch," "full of contrasts and nuances,"
"rare sensitivity and dazzling virtuosity," "finesse of touch and technical mastery," and
"brave administration of silence," Yeontaek Oh has earned international acclaim. After
receiving his musical education across four countries—Seoul National University, New
England Conservatory of Music (Master’s degree with honors and a Gilbert Foundation
scholarship), Hochschule für Musik Freiburg (Konzertexamen degree as a recipient of
DAAD and a German Government Scholarship), and Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris
(Concertiste degree with a full scholarship)—he is currently completing his DMA degree
at Manhattan School of Music. Oh has won over ten international competitions,
including his recent first prize at the Rio de Janeiro International Piano Competition in
Brazil and second prize at Prix de Bern (Interlaken Classics). After making his debut with
the Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 14 in his hometown of Wonju, he has
extensively performed worldwide, including in South America (Brazil and Cuba) and
Africa (Morocco). Additionally, Oh's recent notable performances include appearances
at Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro, the Seoul Arts Center Festival, and a recital
invited by the Lyon Chopin Association. In 2019, his performance in Paris was
live-recorded and released by the Piano Campus Foundation. He also gave
masterclasses at Gangwon Arts High School and Gangwon University in Korea.
Yeontaek serves as an Adjunct Professor at Mahanaim College of Music and is a
member of the 200K subscriber YouTube channel "Music Life and Balance," where he
shares his passion for classical music with a global audience, further solidifying his
status as a prominent figure in the classical music community.
